ENDING MALARIA

Fighting Malaria in Nigeria: Our End Malaria Program

Malaria, a disease spread by mosquitoes, is a serious threat to public health. Common symptoms include fever, fatigue, headaches, and vomiting. In severe cases, it can cause jaundice, seizures, and even death. In 2020, there were an estimated 241 million malaria cases and 627,000 deaths worldwide, with the vast majority of these deaths occurring among children in sub-Saharan Africa.

Our Solution: The “End Malaria Program”

KOFA’s “End Malaria Program” is a crucial initiative dedicated to eliminating malaria in Nigeria. We are tackling this challenge head-on with targeted, effective interventions:

Mosquito Net Distribution: We provide insecticide-treated mosquito nets to communities to protect families while they sleep.

Education and Awareness: We conduct educational campaigns to teach people about the importance of using nets correctly and other preventative measures.

Testing and Treatment: We offer free malaria testing and provide essential treatments directly to communities, ensuring timely care for those affected.

These efforts have dramatically improved the health and well-being of countless individuals. By reducing the burden of malaria, our program is helping Nigeria move closer to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030.
