ENDING HIV EPIDEMIC

ENDING HIV EPIDEMIC

Our Fight Against the HIV Epidemic

Over the past three decades, the spread of HIV has had a profound impact on health, welfare, and employment across Nigeria, affecting people from all social and ethnic backgrounds. According to UNAIDS, approximately 1.8 million people in Nigeria are living with HIV, and one-third of them are unaware of their status.

Nigeria has the highest HIV burden in West and Central Africa, with an estimated 107,112 new infections—about 38% of all new cases in the region. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that HIV has claimed over 25 million lives globally, making it a major public health challenge.

Our Solution: The “End HIV Epidemic Initiative”

KOFA’s “End HIV Epidemic Initiative” is a comprehensive health program designed to combat HIV/AIDS in Nigeria. Our approach is built on providing accessible and essential services to underserved communities:

Free HIV Testing: We offer free, rapid HIV testing to ensure everyone, regardless of their location, has access to this vital service.

Post-Test Counseling and Support: Our program provides comprehensive post-test counseling to support individuals and encourage a holistic approach to HIV prevention and care.

By prioritizing inclusivity and accessibility, our initiative’s primary goal is to significantly reduce the HIV burden in Nigeria and help end the epidemic.
