CONTROLLING MALNUTRITION

Fighting Malnutrition: Our Approach to a Healthier Future

Nearly half of the world’s population, including mothers and children, suffers from undernutrition and micronutrient deficiencies. The effects are devastating and include low birth weight, chronic energy deficiency in women, and high rates of illness and death in infants.

Deficiencies in iron, vitamin A, zinc, and iodine are the most common, and they contribute to 50% of all deaths in children under five worldwide.

Our Goal: Improving Nutritional Health

KOFA is actively implementing intervention programs to combat malnutrition. We focus on a comprehensive approach that includes:

Awareness Campaigns: We educate mothers in communities about the critical importance of a balanced diet.

Comprehensive Care: We ensure that children and women receive regular check-ups, timely vaccinations, and treatment for illnesses related to malnutrition.

Targeted Support: Our programs specifically address the needs of pregnant women, infants, and young children, who are the most vulnerable.

By addressing the root causes of malnutrition, our goal is to reduce childhood mortality and significantly improve the nutritional health of women and children in the communities we serve.
